Feasibility study for a WMO inter-comparison for volcanic ash Lidar commercial systems

Résumé

Taking into account the context of volcanic ash observation, an expert group has studied what is feasible to assess in order to give reliable Lidar information to aviation concerning ash detection. Lidar parameters to be evaluated and the associated methodology have been reported concerning the aerosol cloud detection, attribution and quantification.
