Identification of sources of potential fields with the continuous wavelet transform: Application to self-potential profiles

Abstract : We show how the continuous wavelet transform may be used to quickly localize and characterize the sources of self-potential anomalies. The method is applied to synthetic examples and to a self-potential profile crossing a shallow fault zone.
