Here we report preliminary results from an MTBSTFA derivatization (MD) GCMS experiment that was optimized for the detection of MTBSTFA residual vapor reaction products with refractory organic compounds and other molecules present in the Cumberland (CB) mudstone sample, known to contain organic molecules
