Aromatized C-2 oxygenated triterpenoids as indicators for a novel transformation pathway in the environment

Abstract : Four oleanane-related triterpenoid ketones and phenols isolated from an archaeological piece of oak wood have been identified by NMR studies. Their structures give clue to the diagenetic transformation of 2,3-oxygenated higher plant triterpenoids in the environment
